At this week’s Magic Millions, miRunners and Racing Queensland have announced a groundbreaking partnership set to revolutionise racehorse ownership for Queenslanders. The new partnership brings together the expertise and proven success of miRunners, and the industry authority of RQ to create an exciting new way for Queenslanders to have access to premium and affordable thoroughbreds.
The announcement will see miRunners expand the number of thoroughbreds available and trained from Queensland and continues miRunners’ push to offer ownership opportunities across more communities across Australia, and globally.
Racing Queensland CEO Brendan Parnell was excited to support miRunners’ plans to purchase high-quality yearlings at this week’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale and also, for the first time, at the QTIS March Yearling Sale.

On the first day of the Magic Millions Yearling Sales (Wednesday) miRunners purchased Highgrove Stud’s Written Tycoon x Sponsored filly for $176,000. This yearling will be trained by leading Queensland horseman Rob Heathcote at the historic Eagle Farm racecourse.

Heathcote, who trained the legendary Queensland sprinter Buffering, is delighted to be the first trainer to take part in this exciting initiative.

Expanding the miRunners Queensland stable
Written Tycoon x Sponsored is the second premium miRunners horse offered to Queenslanders, with five-time premier trainer Tony Gollan currently offering ownership in a 2yo Your Song filly who is a full sister to the exciting Hollaback Girl.
Recently named Lyrical Girl by owners’ vote (another miRunners benefit), she was purchased for $275,000 at last years Magic Millions sale, and some units remain on offer at $275 each.
