Leading Queensland trainer Tony Gollan sees a lot of potential in the miRunners Lyrical Girl filly that he is currently training. We recently had a chat to him to hear his thoughts on the filly, and how he adapts his training style to suit each individual thoroughbred.
“I love this filly, from the minute we saw her at the sales. I have had a little bit to do with the family; she’s a beautiful type of filly with a great action about her. She’s a gorgeous headed filly, and there’s really not a lot you can fault with her. I absolutely love her as a specimen, her nature is fantastic and she’s very easy to train so far. For me, she just ticks all the boxes.”

Tony Gollan has been Queensland’s Premiership-winning trainer for the past four years and has tasted Group 1 success on two occasions with Spirit of Boom and Temple of Boom. He has accumulated over $31 million dollars in prize money, unsurprisingly given his dedication and commitment to individual training regimes for each of his thoroughbreds in work.
“We treat each horse as an individual, using systems that we have used successfully over the years. We just try and fit each horse into that system and model their own training regime to how they are and particularly how they are coping. With a filly like this, it’s about how she is coping with the workload and the rigours of training, and knowing when to push and when to pull.”
“It definitely helps our stable getting the support of a great concept like miRunners, and having a quality filly like this land in our yard. I absolutely love the concept and the fact that it gives everyone the chance to dip their toes in the water into racing.”

“I love this concept. It gives the everyday person to grab a unit in a horse that would otherwise be mostly inaccessible, even to someone like myself. She’s a $250,000 filly, and with your platform that we have been using at our stable here for some period of time, it makes it very easy to get information out to people”.
“People can buy one unit and feel like they own the whole horse with the amount of information they get from the stable. You’re buying into a premium animal with good pedigree, and hopefully well prepared by a good stable.”
Lyrical Girl was bought at the 2018 Gold Coast Magic Millions for $275,000 AUD (inc GST). Now’s your chance to become an owner, with 1,000 units available, each unit costs $275. A monthly admin & training fee of $15 for your first unit and $5 for each additional unit is also payable.
Units are going fast so if you are interested in this beautiful filly, you need to buy quickly.
