Diesel continues to impress during his Breaking In at Newington Farm
Our Better Than Ready colt nicknamed “Diesel” continues to impress at Newington Farm during his Breaking In phase. As you will see in the video below, he has now progressed to working outside the arena and is doing so with the ultimate attitude! The team are very pleased with his progress. It is always an exciting time seeing these young horses thrive during their early education, a time where the foundation is being set for their future success on the race track, and what we are seeing from Diesel is extremely promising!
Shares in Diesel will be available very soon, to express your interest or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch at support@mirunners.com or head to our website for more information.
Farcited is settling in well at the Freedman’s
It has been a highly positive and encouraging month for Farcited, who has now well and truly settled into life at the Victorian base of Anthony & Sam Freedman following his recent move south.
Over the past few weeks, Farcited has been working through a structured fitness program on the water walker, allowing him to gradually build strength and condition while keeping concussion to a minimum. Pleasingly, he has taken to this routine extremely well, thriving in the environment, adapting seamlessly to the new stable, and responding in all the right ways to his workload.
We would also like to extend our thanks to all owners for your patience during this period. Allowing Farcited the time he needed has been key, and it’s very rewarding to now be nearing the point where he can transition back into pre-training.
Encouragingly, we continue to see strong signs that the progeny of Farnan are progressing impressively into their three-year-old season. This only adds to the confidence and excitement surrounding Farcited as he continues to develop and mature.
The next phase of his preparation will be carefully planned in consultation with the Freedman team, ensuring a smooth and well-timed return to full work. As always, every decision will be made with his long-term future front of mind, with a tailored approach to give him the best possible chance to return to the track in peak condition.
There’s a real sense of momentum building again with Farcited, and we are excited to watch his continued progress under the expert care of Anthony & Sam Freedman.

A little bit about Farcited’s new trainers…
At the forefront of Australian racing, Anthony Freedman and Sam Freedman combine generations of elite horsemanship with a progressive, modern approach to training thoroughbreds.
Built on one of the most respected names in the sport, the Freedman operation represents a legacy of excellence that has helped shape Australian racing for decades. Anthony, a key figure behind some of the nation’s greatest successes, now partners with his son Sam bringing together proven experience and a new-age mindset.
Operating from world-class facilities in Victoria, and expanding their presence nationally, the stable continues to attract high-quality horses and ambitious owners alike. Their approach is simple yet powerful, individualised training programs, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to placing each horse in the right races to maximise performance and long-term success.
We are so excited for this next chapter for our 2025 Golden Slipper runner, Farcited.
We are heading back to Kilkivan for the 2026 miRunners Muster
Another stakes-horse success for our Head of Bloodstock
Our Head of Bloodstock, Mick Malone has a wealth of knowledge and proven success when it comes to selecting Bloodstock. His most recent success, a filly by Zousain called Verzain, she took out last weekend’s 2YO Listed Without Fear Stakes at Morphetville for her trainer Phillip Stokes.
Mick found Verzain as Lot 1067 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, on the first day of Book 2, deep into the 1441-lot catalogue in 2025.
“I’m always looking for nice horses and she popped up and she had good quality about her. She’s just a nice buy for the guys, they are good people and she’s a nice valuable filly now with plenty of upside,” said Malone.
This gives the miRunners family even more confidence in the bloodstock we have purchased, and although not every horse Mick selects can be a champion, it certainly gives us confidence that our Bloodstock is being selected by one of the best in the industry. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for our current horses in the stables and of course, for our four new yearling purchases from this year.
