Luna - Cool Aza Beel (NZ) x Vanderlune

Trained by Leon & Troy Corstens and Will Larkin – purchased from Newhaven Park Stud at the 2026 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

By Cool Aza Beel (NZ), a high-class Group 1-winning juvenile whose progeny are already stamping themselves as athletic, forward and naturally balanced types with strength and scope, this filly presents an exciting opportunity to secure a daughter of a young sire firmly on the rise.

We have previously highlighted the quality of Cool Aza Beel (NZ)’s stock – including the impressive G1 J.J Atkins winner COOL ARCHIE (another Mick Malone purchase) and it is particularly encouraging to see that Cool Aza Beel (NZ) is producing stakes-winning fillies as well like Cool Aza Rene. This is a significant factor when investing in a developing stallion, as it enhances both racetrack potential and future residual value.

Our new filly is out of Vanderlune, a winning Written Tycoon mare from a family that continues to produce genuine, high-performing racehorses. Importantly, Vanderlune is a half-sister to Group 2 winner TESTASHADOW, adding proven black-type performance and depth to an already appealing pedigree.

As reflected in the photos, this filly combines a balanced, athletic physique with the strength and quality typical of her sire line. She has the presence and physical maturity to suggest she could be an early-running 2YO, while still possessing the scope and frame to develop into a competitive 3YO filly and beyond.

We are absolutely thrilled to once again partner with Leon & Troy Corstens and Will Larkin of Malua Racing – Group 1 winning trainers with whom miRunners have previously enjoyed great success. Their proven ability to identify, develop and place talented horses in the right races gives us tremendous confidence that this filly will be given every opportunity to reach her full potential.
