Val De Grise is by multiple Group 1 producing Stallion Dundeel out of the Manhattan Rain mare New York Lights. At the time of writing Dundeel has produced 52 stakes performers, 28 stakes winners, 8 group 1 winners with standouts being the likes of Celestial Legend, Militarize, Super Seth, Castelvecchio, She’s Ideel, Hope In Your Heart and Atyaab. As a racehorse Dundeel had 19 starts for 10 wins 4 seconds and a third amassing $5,392,165 in prize money.

Peter Moody

Peter Moody is a name synonymous with excellence in horse training, yet his career is often defined by one extraordinary achievement: his work with the legendary mare, Black Caviar. Though many may associate Moody solely with this undefeated champion, his career extends far beyond a single horse. Black Caviar’s 25 consecutive wins, including a triumphant appearance at Royal Ascot’s Diamond Jubilee in front of the Queen, cemented both the mare and Moody in racing history. However, Moody’s success did not stop there; his training career is decorated with numerous victories at the highest level.

In 2016, after a remarkable career that included 54 Group 1 wins and 2,400 total victories, Moody temporarily stepped away from training. His final win before retirement came in the William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley with Flamberge, a fitting end to a storied career. Despite stepping back, Moody’s passion for racing never waned. He returned to the sport in 2020, marking his comeback with a victory from his first runner, Shepard. Based at Pakenham’s Tynong training complex, Moody is once again building a powerful stable, continuing to chase unfinished business in the racing world.

Katherine Coleman

Katherine Coleman is the rising star in the Moody Racing partnership, bringing fresh energy and insight to the team. A talented horsewoman in her own right, Katherine has worked her way up through the ranks of the racing industry, gaining invaluable experience and honing her skills under some of the most respected names in the sport. Now, as Peter Moody’s training partner, she plays a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations at their Pakenham base. Katherine’s dedication to the horses and her keen eye for detail have quickly made her an integral part of the team, contributing to the ongoing success of Moody Racing. Her partnership with Moody is not just a professional collaboration but a blend of experience and new ideas that continue to elevate their stable’s performance.
