A change of mating for Dusty Tycoon

After going negative twice to Farnan, a change of mating for Dusty Tycoon was on the cards. After many discussions within the miRunners Bloodstock team – the decision has been made to head to a different stallion to give Dusty the best chance of conception!

Dusty Tycoon’s new mating is SWITZERLAND. A Group-1 winning son of the late SNITZEL. He won the sire making race the Group-1 Coolmore Stud Stakes in record time. Now standing his first season at the prestigious Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley.

Stud Spotlight: North’s first Group 1 winner!

What an amazing feat for our Bloodstock partners at North Bloodstock, producing a Group-1 winner from their inaugural Magic Millions draft! Ole Dancer (by Ole Kirk) took out the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) last weekend at Caulfield defeating the hot favourite, Apocalyptic in an almighty battle down the straight. Trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, and rode a treat by Blake Shinn. We couldn’t be happier for the team at North and all of Ole Dancer’s connections.

COBAR is not far off a Barrier Trial – Only 45 Units Remain!

Our promising 2YO colt COBAR is doing everything right with the team at Hayfields Racing in Victoria. The grandson of SNITZEL is building his fitness nicely and has had a number of unofficial jump out’s where he has really impressed the team with his can-do attitude and handy gate speed! Cobar will have another unofficial jump-out before the team assess whether he is ready to head to an official trial. If Cobar continues to progress the way he is, it won’t be long before we see him lining up at the races.

Our Graff colt is off to Cranbourne with Price Kent Racing

Our ripping 2YO Graff colt out of Correlate, affectionately known as ‘Jake’ is thriving during pre-training at Thenford Farm. As you can see in the video above, he has been enjoying some time in the arena completing some dressage work and also thriving in his work around the track – he is certainly starting to put it all together very nicely. He heads back to the stables with the Price Kent Racing team next week.

Farnished is ticking along nicely at Tulloch Lodge

Farnished has settled in well at Tulloch Lodge, he is slowly building his fitness and is still working on relaxing and switching off in his work, the team are happy with how he is progressing. As you can see in the video below, he has furnished very nicely and is growing into a very quality horse. We can’t wait to see him continue to progress with the team at Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott Racing over the coming weeks.

Rusty Tycoon is thriving during Pre-Training

Rusty Tycoon is thriving during Pre-Training at Kolora Lodge in Queensland. He is building up his fitness nicely and as you can see from the video above, he is a very happy and sound horse! It won’t be long and he will be back in work at Eagle Farm with Robert Heathcote and his team.

While we are on the topic of Robert Heathcote, how about that training effort last weekend with ROTHFIRE! A horse that has not had an easy race career and has come back from soundness issues to then be winning at Group level as an 8 year old is a true testament to Rob and his team. We are so privileged here at miRunners to have a number of horses in work with him.

The finalists for Freddy’s race name!

The top three names have been submitted for our Pierata x Highland Daughter gelding. The finalists are… ‘Highpieractive’ submitted by Laura Watson, David Bewley submitted ‘They Call Me Fred’ and Lise Perrin submitted the name ‘Ready Freddy’. The announcement for his official race name won’t be far away!

Val De Grise has settled in a treat at Eagle Farm

Our eye catching daughter of Dundeel, VAL DE GRISE has settled in beautifully at Robert Heathcote’s in Queensland. As we mentioned last week, she has furnished and grown out beautifully in the last 6 months where she has been enjoying her work at Emeran Park. Now, she is ready to hit the ground running and hopefully head towards her first race start in the coming months. As you can see from the video above, she is very happy and relaxed and the team at Robert Heathcote Racing are very happy with her progress so far.
