miRunners Update October 2023

I hope this message finds you well and brimming with excitement because there is so much to share from the miRunners stables! The past few weeks have been action packed, and full of excitement with our 2 year olds coming on, a number of them have now been named and our two old boys Fixated and Zoushack putting in two incredible performances at Eagle Farm.

We witnessed Zoushack showcasing his talent, finishing an impressive 2nd in the Sky Racing Open Handicap over 1000m at Eagle Farm. Not to be outdone, Fixated ran a stellar race, securing 4th place by a mere 1.4 lengths in the Gallopers Sports Club Benchmark 68 over 1200m on Saturday, October 7th. Your horses are making us proud on the track, and we couldn’t be happier with their progress.

Our Star Turn colt is now known as Star Ambition, the Strasbourg gelding goes by the name Strasbeau, and our Exceed & Excel colt has been aptly named Cardiologist. We can’t wait to see them shine on the racecourse. Cardiologist and Strasbeau were all very close to trialling this preparation. They will look to have their first trial once they return from their spell.

Our recent owner’s race days at Eagle Farm were nothing short of incredible. The energy, the camaraderie, and the shared passion for horseracing created an atmosphere of pure joy. Additionally, our visit to the Heathcote Stable on October 4th was a resounding success. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Heathcote Racing for their warm hospitality and valuable insights.

I am deeply appreciative of the positive interactions and posts from our owners on social media. Your enthusiasm and support are the driving force behind miRunners’ success. Please continue to share your experiences and insights. In any situation there is always the opportunity to be positive and in saying that there is just as much opportunity to be negative. Choosing to stay positive makes the owner’s experience so much better for everyone. If you come across anything on social media that isn’t what you think we are about, please email support@mirunners.com and bring it to our attention. Everyone is entitled to an opinion & everyone isn’t always going to agree.  At miRunners the expectation is that all owner’s be respectful and courteous to others always. The last six months has been fantastic, thank you.

As we move forward, I am filled with a sense of anticipation for the incredible journey that lies ahead. Your unwavering support fuels our passion, and together, there’s no limit to what we can achieve. Thank you for being an integral part of the miRunners family.

We are thrilled to see Star Ambition’s outstanding performance in his first trial over 658m at the Gold Coast on the poly track.  Under the skilled guidance of trainers Toby and Trent Edmonds, Star Ambition jumped very well, lead throughout and won with ease.

Toby and Trent Edmonds were very pleased with Star Ambition’s trial. His trial performance has lead to Toby and Trent now designing a race plan that includes a targeted approach towards the listed Magic Millions 2 Year Old Classic in January 2024. Also part of the plan is the Group 3 BJ McLachlan over 1200m, scheduled for the 23rd of December 2023.

miRunners Head of Bloodstock, Mick Malone, and miRunners owner, Darren Halpin, purchased Star Ambition at the 2023 Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast. Star Ambition is showing signs of being a strong colt accepting each challenge thrown his way.

QLD owners meet Zoushack and Fixated for the first time!

Thirty lucky miRunners owners shared a delightful experience during a recent stable visit at Eagle Farm. On this special day, some of our owners had the incredible opportunity to meet Fixated and Zoushack in person. The day began with a warm welcome from Leah Kilner, the Racing Manager at Heathcote Racing, who guided our owners on an exclusive tour of the Eagle Farm stables. For some, this encounter marked the very first time they met their horses face-to-face, a momentous occasion that bridged the gap between the virtual world of television screens and the tangible reality of their beloved racehorses.

The joy of seeing Fixated and Zoushack up close, feeling their presence, and witnessing their grace in person was an unforgettable experience for our owners. It forged a deeper connection, adding a new layer of excitement to their ownership journey.

The day didn’t end there. Following the stable visit, our owners gathered at the Gallopers Club for a delightful lunch. This provided a perfect setting for them to mingle, share their miRunners stories, and bond over their shared passion for horse racing. These conversations were filled with the excitement of past races, the thrill of victories, and the anticipation of future triumphs.

These events epitomize the essence of miRunners – uniting like-minded individuals who are passionate about the world of horse racing.  It’s more than just ownership; it’s about fostering a community where experiences are shared, friendships are formed, and the journey of racehorse ownership becomes a collective adventure.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Heathcote Racing team, our owners, and everyone who made this day possible. Your enthusiasm and camaraderie exemplify the spirit of miRunners.

Zoushack lights up the track on his QLD debut!

Zoushack, affectionately known as Shacky, made his Queensland debut at Eagle Farm in the Sky Racing Open Handicap over 1000m on the 14th of October. In the above video you can see Shacky’s performance was nothing short of remarkable – he ran an incredibly gallant 2nd place, showcasing exceptional toughness, resilience and a never say die attitude.

Despite facing a short-priced favourite, Shacky rattled home with impressive determination. With just a bit more luck in the running, victory was undoubtedly within his grasp. It’s clear that he has totally acclimatised since arriving in the sunshine state and is absolutely thriving with the Heathcote Racing team.

We are excited to announce that Zoushack is now gearing up for his next challenge. On the 11th of November, he will be competing at Doomben in the Listed Keith Noud Quality over 1200m. With his recent outstanding performance, we have every confidence that Shacky will continue to run very well.

Zoushack’s owner’s unwavering support has been instrumental in Zoushack’s journey, and we invite you to join us in cheering him on at Doomben. Let’s rally behind our gallant Shacky as he races towards another thrilling chapter in his racing career!
