We are incredibly excited to have secured Lot 61 from the Gold Coast Magic Millions sale, an Xtravagant colt out of the stakes winning mare Vacherie Girl for $55,000, affectionately nicknamed Johnny.

Johnny is an incredibly precocious young colt, purchased with the aim of competing in the 2026 Magic Millions. He will be trained at Eagle Farm by Queensland’s champion trainer, Tony Gollan. Tony has a remarkable track record in this prestigious race series, having secured victory in the 2023 2 Year Old Classic with Skirt The Law. Since 2020, he has claimed 11 additional wins at the Gold Coast meeting, including the Cup in 2020 and 2023, as well as the Snippets in 2021, 2022, and 2025. With his proven expertise in preparing champions for this event, Johnny is in the perfect hands to be conditioned for success in 2026.

His sire Xtravagant won on debut as a 2 year old by 8 lengths and trained on to be crowned the best 3 year old in New Zealand. His dam Vacherie Girl raced in America winning 2 stakes races as a 2 year old. When she retired from racing, she was purchased by John Kelly from Newhaven Park in NSW for $200,000 and imported to Australia to be a broodmare. Johnny is her first foal, who we along with Tony Gollan feel that due to his athleticism and how well he moves he will successfully be racing as a 2 year old.

Johnny’s pedigree is blistering speed with speed and anyone who has seen Xtravagant on the track will know exactly what we are talking about.

• To start with, Johnny is an early foal, born on the 4th of August, which means he has a head start on the pack from the outset.
• Raised at a nursery of 2 year olds at Newhaven Park, John Kelly and his team have already bred a Magic Millions 2 year old winner and had two horses in the race this year. John himself believes that Johnny has every chance of cracking the Magic Millions as a 2 year old.
• Johnny’s second dam SAUCEY OFFICER was a winner who had 6 foals head to the races, every single one was a winner.
• Johnny’s third dam BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE had 13 foals make it to the races. 11 of her foals were winners including SUNDAE ON SUNDAY who won as a 2 year old and went on to win 12 races and WITTS TOWN who won 7 races winning and placing at stakes level.
• Johnny’s fourth dam MERINGUE PIE, won as a 2 year old and went on to win 14 racesincluding at stakes level. Once retired she continued to be a winner also having 13 foals make it to the races, 10 of which were winners including PIE IN YOUR EYE who won a staggering 29 races including races at stakes level. TULLIUS won 2 races as a 2 year old and trained on to win 7 including a Group 2 and placed at Group 1 level. Maglietta Fina won as a 2 year old and trained on to win 5 races.
