It has been an exciting few months for miRunners, with some big milestones and plenty to look forward to.
We are incredibly proud to launch miRunners Platinum, making us the first and only syndicator in Australia to offer both micro-ownership and traditional syndication ownership opportunities. Our Platinum platform has hit the ground running with two outstanding colts.
The first is a Pinatubo colt trained by Michael Freedman, who is progressing beautifully and looks every inch a pre-Christmas two-year-old. He is about to head back in for another preparation at Randwick. The second is a Graff colt trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, who is also on track to race as a two-year-old.
Both colts are nominated for the Golden Slipper and the Blue Diamond Stakes, and we are thrilled to see shares selling quickly since they were released last week. Platinum horses will run in their own distinctive miRunners Platinum silks, which will be unveiled in the coming months, and we are looking forward to welcoming owners at several exclusive events. With shares strictly limited, I encourage anyone interested to reach out at support@mirunners.com before they are completely sold.
On the micro-ownership side, shares in both Smithy and Freddy are running out fast. For anyone wanting to join us in racing Freddy with Bjorn Baker Racing or Smithy with Hayfields Racing, now is the time to act before both horses are fully subscribed.
On the track, Star Ambition has been sensational with two dominant wins this preparation, one at Grafton and another on Coffs Cup Day at Coffs Harbour. Toby Edmonds has done an incredible job with him, and we cannot wait to see him step out again in the coming weeks.
There is also exciting news for Val De Grise, who will head to a new trainer. She has made excellent progress under Shannon Benjes at Emeran Park, and we look forward to announcing the next stage of her career later this week.
Our two-year-old by Xtravagant, affectionately nicknamed Johnny, now has his official racing name: Xtravagant Johnny. He continues to make excellent progress in the Tony Gollan system, with the Magic Millions race series firmly in our sights. Everything he has shown so far suggests he is right on track and could possibly be heading to the Gold Coast in January.
And finally, a special update on our much-loved mare Dusty Tycoon, who will be served this week by Farnan at Kia Ora Stud. Dusty looks fantastic, and we are hopeful everything goes smoothly. A huge thank you goes to Mick, Pauline, and the whole team at North for their outstanding care and dedication to Dusty.
There is no doubt the months ahead are shaping up to be very exciting for the entire miRunners community. I encourage you to join us on the journey as we continue to chase big dreams on the track.
Cheers,
Mick
miRunners Platinum is here!
miRunners is proud to introduce miRunners Platinum, a new ownership model designed to complement our original micro-syndication offering.
Since inception, miRunners owners have traditionally entered race horse ownership through our micro-syndication model, dividing each horse into 1,000 units with shares as small as 0.1%. That model is here to stay, but for those looking for a more traditional style of syndication, Platinum offers a new and exclusive pathway.
Under the Platinum model, each horse will be owned by no more than 50 people, with ownership options from 0.5% to 10%. Platinum owners will have the opportunity to attend exclusive events and experiences, while benefiting from the same value, transparency, and professional management that miRunners is known for. Importantly, miRunners also retains a share in each Platinum horse, meaning we are invested alongside our owners.
Another standout feature of Platinum is the predictable, stable fee structure. Your monthly fee stays the same regardless of whether your horse is spelling, in training, trialling, or racing. If surplus funds remain at the end of a horse’s career, they are returned to owners. If costs are underestimated, miRunners absorbs the difference.
We are thrilled to offer ownership opportunities in two outstanding colts as part of the inaugural Platinum package.
Jake, our Graff x Correlate colt, trained by Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr at Cranbourne. A striking individual, Jake combines the precocity and speed of his sire Graff with the quality of his dam line. Graff, a Group-winning sprinter and one of Australia’s most exciting young stallions, is already producing progeny that display the same brilliance he showed on the track. Correlate, Jake’s dam, is a winning daughter of Not A Single Doubt, one of Australia’s most influential broodmare sires. Jake’s second dam is the elite mare Hollow Bullet, who amassed $1.4 million in prize money and has produced nine winners from ten foals, including multiple stakes performers. Jake has had one preparation with the Price Kent team and is currently spelling. In the coming weeks he will make his way to Cranbourne for another preparation where the Price Kent team will step him up a bit more. Jake is Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond Stakes nominated and will be targeting the Magic Millions race series.
Donny, our Pinatubo x Brave Lass colt, trained by multiple Golden Slipper and Melbourne Cup winning trainer Michael Freedman at Randwick. By unbeaten European Champion two-year-old Pinatubo, Donny inherits the brilliance, speed, resilience and professional temperament of a sire rated the best two-year-old in the world in the last 25 years. Pinatubo’s dominance as a juvenile included six straight victories, among them the National Stakes by nine lengths and the Dewhurst Stakes, before going on to Group 1 success at three-years-old in the Prix Jean Prat. Donny has already impressed everyone at Randwick throughout his first preparation and is back in pre training at Hawkesbury building towards his next preparation at Randwick. Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond Stakes nominated, Donny will also target the Inglis race series.
Why Platinum?
With Jake and Donny leading the way, miRunners Platinum provides a unique chance to be part of two exceptionally bred colts in premium stables, under the guidance of some of Australia’s leading trainers. This is your opportunity to step into a more exclusive ownership model, while enjoying the same hallmark transparency, value, and fun that define miRunners. Head to the platinum package on our website to register your interest.

Smithy is settling in and shaping up.
Our exciting Sandbar colt Smithy has been making all the right moves since arriving in Victoria, where he is under the care of Charlotte Littlefield and her team at Hayfields Racing. Having spent the past few months acclimatising, Smithy has taken everything in his stride. His first preparation with Charlotte was a real success, he did everything asked of him to a high standard and came through the experience in great order. He displayed fantastic barrier manners and even rounded out his prep with a gallop in company with two fillies, where he showed his professionalism by keeping his mind on the job and behaving like the ultimate gentleman.
Now spelling on Charlotte’s farm, Smithy is enjoying the benefits of Hayfields Racing’s hands-on approach. Charlotte is known for the time and individual care she gives each horse in her boutique stable, ensuring their development is carefully managed every step of the way. It is this philosophy that has seen Hayfields Racing achieve an impressive 18% winning strike rate over the past 12 months, a testament to how her team consistently goes above and beyond. Smithy will return to the stables in the coming weeks to begin his next preparation, and with nominations for both the Golden Slipper and the Blue Diamond Stakes, he is firmly on track to target some of Australia’s most prestigious two-year-old races this season.
A strong, confident type, Smithy continues to impress everyone around him and is certainly putting his best foot forward as he develops. With Charlotte guiding his progress, owners have plenty to be excited about in the months ahead. Smithy is not far off being fully subscribed, some shares are still available in Smithy via the miRunners website – OurStable | miRunners

Freddy is back in work and looking the part.
Meet Freddy, our Pierata x Highland Daughter gelding, who is shaping up as a horse to watch.
Handpicked from the Glenlogan Park draft at the 2025 January Gold Coast Magic Millions sale, Freddy is outstanding value for a horse with his credentials. miRunners proudly owns 100% of Freddy, who will join the Bjorn Baker Racing team at Warwick Farm in the near future.
Freddy’s sire PIERATA, a Group 1 winning sprinter and the best performed son of Champion sire Pierro. Pierata earned over $5.8 million on the track, defeating elite names such as Trapeze Artist, Bivouac, Nature Strip, and Redzel. His first crop of two-year-olds has produced five individual Group performers, including Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes winner and 2024 Golden Slipper runner-up, Coleman.
On the dam’s side, Highland Daughter was a talented two-year-old herself, winning and performing at Group level. She has proven her ability as a broodmare, producing five foals to race, four of them winners, including stakes winner Highland Beat, a dual two-year-old winner.
Progress at Wyong
Under the care of Shannon Benjes and the Emeran Park team at Wyong, Freddy has returned to work following his gelding and is thriving. Away from the track he is the class clown, full of life and character, but when it comes to business, he switches on beautifully.
Recent footage shows him moving with a lovely action and staying nice and relaxed, even with his trackwork mate carrying on like a bit of a pork chop alongside him. Freddy is also starting to lose his winter coat and is looking fantastic as he sharpens up.
It won’t be long before Freddy takes the next step, heading to Warwick Farm for a look around and to commence life with Bjorn Baker and his team.

Rusty Tycoon begins his racing career.
Rusty Tycoon, our talented Brutal gelding and brother to miRunners broodmare Dusty Tycoon, made his racing debut in July at Doomben. On a soft track over 1200 metres, he showed real promise with a strong performance first-up, impressing the Heathcote Racing team with his natural ability.
Following his debut, Rusty returned to the races for two further starts, finishing fifth on both occasions. While still learning his craft, he demonstrated that he can more than hold his own against quality company, working at home alongside stablemates that have already performed at stakes level.
Rusty has now headed to Kolora Lodge for a well earned spell. The experience of his first preparation will prove invaluable as he continues to develop and mature ahead of his next campaign. Rusty has proven to the stable that he is one to watch in the future and the stable is confident he will only improve when he returns to the track.
Rusty has gathered a huge following within his ownership group, many of whom have also raced with Dusty, and the excitement around his career is building. We look forward to seeing him back in action after his spell and taking the next step in what promises to be a rewarding career.
Star Ambition returns in style
Star Ambition has made a brilliant return to racing this preparation, kicking off with a strong win at Grafton on July 13th over 1006 metres. Showing his trademark speed, he jumped straight to the front and never looked back, leading all the way to score in dominant fashion.
He then backed it up in style at the Coffs Harbour Cup Day, again stepping out over 1000 metres. Once more he bounced straight to the lead, and when he rounded the turn and hit the home straight, he put the field away with ease, cruising home to win by an impressive four lengths.
Rising in class for his next start at Eagle Farm over 1200 metres, Star Ambition produced a very respectable effort to finish fifth, confirming that he can mix it with stronger company.
After a short freshen up at Toby Edmonds’ farm, Star Ambition returned to work this week with a sharp gallop that showed he is ready to go again. His next run will likely be back over 1000 metres, a distance where he has already proven so effective.
Our son of Star Turn has thrilled his ownership group with his electric early speed, and we cannot wait to see him flying out of the barriers again, giving his owners every reason to cheer him down the home straight.
