Tony Gollan has cemented his spot as one of Queensland’s premier trainers, having won the Brisbane Metropolitan premiership for the last four years running.
He finished up the 2017/18 racing season ranked 10th among more than 2,500 thoroughbred trainers in Australia. For the 2018/19 racing season, his current win percentage is 16.7% and he holds a place percentage of 49.4%.
Over his twenty-two year career, Tony has won in excess of $34 million in prize money and has three Group One wins and ten Group One placings to his name. He shares his top-5 wins here.

This filly hails from an impressive pedigree being by Your Song, sired by Fastnet Rock, who won the G1 BTC Cup in Brisbane by a massive five-length margin as a three-year-old. Your Song was seen by many as one of the standouts at the colt’s initial parade and was labelled as a magnificent looking colt, a good-looking horse with a great attitude and an amazing style.
Sire Your Song produced the best start statistically than any other sire-son of Fastnet Rock, ever. What is even more impressive is that he is the most dominant Group One winning son of Fastnet Rock, who sired 27 individual Group One winners.
Dam
miRunners filly Lyrical is also from the 2YO winning mare Sheeznodoubt, sired by leading Australian sire Not A Single Doubt. Sheeznodoubt finished fourth in the listed AJC Gimcrack stakes which is the first 2YO race of the year, suggesting an early runner is on the cards. The mare has produced four foals to race, of all who are winners including stakes-placed She’s Our Star.
With Sheeznodoubt being by leading Australian sire Not A Single Doubt, running early is still a strong possibility. Proving to be one of Australia’s most reliable sources of early runners, one in five of his runners win at two-years-old, an age which supplies a third of his stakes winners.
It’s the raw, precocious speed that Not a Single Doubt injects into his progeny which has Tony Gollan excited about the Lyrical Girl filly – they are simply born to run.
