All you need to know about trainer Tony Gollan

We have had great success with Tony Gollan training Lyrical Girl for miRunners, and we are thrilled to have him as the trainer of this Better Than Ready colt!

  • Tony Gollan will train the Better Than Ready x Pellegrina colt out of his Eagle Farm stable.
  • In 1999, Tony took out a training license at the age of 20 with a small stable in Toowoomba.
  • Temple Of Boom provided Tony with his first Group 1 success taking out the The Galaxy at Randwick on 21 April 2012.
  • Gollan Racing has enjoyed Group 1 success from early flagbearers Temple Of Boom and Spirit Of Boom, to more recently, Krone, Vega One and Jonker
  • Not long after in the winter of 2012, Tony relocated the stable to Eagle Farm and has not looked back.
  • He won his first metropolitan trainer’s premiership in 2013/14, broke the late Bruce McLachlan’s record for city winners with 79 in 2014/15, and broke 100 city winners for the first time in 2019/20.
  • Tony won his 9th successive metropolitan trainer’s premiership in 2021/22.
  • His Group One winners tally now sits at an impressive 6, and he has over 1,700 career wins to his name.

“At $70,000 this colt was an absolute steel! Normally Magic Millions Race day is run on the Saturday before book two, but due to the weather conditions the race day was run on the following Thursday. Consequently we got to purchase this outstanding Better Than Ready colt before two of his progeny won the features on Magic Millions day including the 2 Million Dollar Magic Millions Classic won By Skirt The Law.

Also adding to the highway Robbery when we purchased this bloke, was post our purchase not only has Better Than Ready as a stallion taken a huge leap, the half sister to Pellegrina (mother of our colt) in Snipzu is now the mother of exciting Extreme Choice 2yr old Don Corleone now favourite for the Sires Produce and in the betting for every 2yr feature in the race book, including 3rd favourite for the Golden Slipper.

Better Than Ready had two colts at the Magic Millions this year both from the same farm that I loved and both replicas of each other. One was purchased by super judge Henry Field as a stallion prospect for $530,000 and the other by miRunners for $70,000. And as stated above, had our bloke sold post the updates we would have been talking multiples of 70k. Love this horse.”

Ongoing Costs

The monthly management fee for your first “horse lot” in each horse is $11 (inc GST) per month. You only pay this management fee on your first “horse lot” purchased. The monthly training fees for the Better Than Ready x Pellegrina colt is $7.33 per month. This means your ongoing monthly costs for one “horse lot” is $18.33. For any additional “horse lots” purchased, you will just pay the $7.33 per month on top of the $18.33 you pay for your first lot (i.e. for 2 “horse lots”, the ongoing costs will be $25.66 per month).

You can purchase up to 5 “horse units” in one horse. At the end of the experience, any surplus training fees will be reimbursed to owners.

**Please note that the monthly subscription payments will start on May 15 2023, regardless of when you purchased your “horse lot/s” prior to this date. If you purchase after April 30 2023, the cost will increase.
