Raceday Recap: The $2 Million Inglis Millennium

Last Wednesday all of the miRunners community had their eyes turned towards Warwick Farm as the Lindsay Park trained Fixated lined up for his biggest race yet, the $2 million Inglis Millennium- 2YOS.  Originally scheduled to be run on the Saturday prior, extreme weather conditions forced the race meeting to be postponed. Both Inglis feature races were then shifted to the Wednesday program despite deteriorating conditions.  As the race meeting rolled into town, the sun was shining, the humidity was present, and the miRunners mantra of 2x2x2 was ready to heat up the track.  With miRunners community members out to…

miRunners Raceday Recap- Dusty Tycoon and Zoushack

Dusty Tycoon and Zoushack headlined the quality of miRunners horses as they gave the whole community a reason to celebrate over the past fortnight. The excitement was highlighted by race caller Josh Fleming as Dusty Tycoon stormed passed the Sunshine Coast Turf Club winning post first. “And I can hear the miRunners team cheering from up here,” he said. These cheers continued all the way down to Victoria as Zoushack tackled the Magic Millions 3&4YO Classic. In his first start in a month, finishing fourth in a quality field, it was a promising indication that miRunners owners just may get…

Everest Day 2018 – A day to remember for many Zoushack owners

Last year on Everest Day, Zoushack made his debut in the Victory Vein Plate on a dismal day at Randwick. It surely wasn’t a dismal day for Zoushack owners however, who enjoyed every minute of their ownership experience. With over 40,000 attendees there for Australia’s richest race on turf, Zoushack owners felt like royalty watching their boy take to the track for the first time. Experiencing the mounting yard at Randwick and meeting trainer David Hayes as well as two-time Everest winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy is something they will never forget.  Not much went right for Zoushack in the run,…

Zoushack makes it 2 wins from 2 runs this preparation with a gutsy finish

Zoushack put in a gutsy performance to make it 2 wins from 2 outings this preparation, winning Race 10 at Seymour by a literal nose hair. In a tight photo finish which looked to have nothing in it, Zoushack kicked back when it mattered to make it back to back wins. After being vetted at the gates, 3YO gelding Zoushack jumped well out of the barriers and settled at the front of the field, leading from start to finish. In saying this, there was great tension in the finish when it looked as though the fast-finishing Deploys Alone was going…

She has won 3 from 4 of her trials/jump outs over her two…

Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt settling in to life at Lindsay Park

The Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt is in work at Lindsay Park after arriving there just last week. Trainer David Hayes has described him as a “nice, strong horse”, which definitely shines through in his trackwork.  So far, owners have received two updates from Lindsay Park on their colt, which shows him working in company with other horses on the track. Watch the first two updates below:     Throughout his early education process, this colt has constantly been showing all his educators very positive signs. He is strong yet has a great temperament, which isn’t always seen in a young…

It’s another big week ahead for miRunners, as Gaelic Puzzle, Bellarine Beauty and Zoushack are all expected to hit the track. Gaelic Puzzle and Zoushack will be having their second runs of this preparation, with Bellarine Beauty set to make her racing debut.  Zoushack put on a dominant display first-up at Sale two weeks ago to win by a length, and trainer David Hayes is hoping he can repeat that next week when he races at Seymour before hopefully heading to the city. Watch his first-up win below: The race was dominated from the front with Zoushack holding off the…

It was an unforgettable day of racing on Saturday March 9, as the unlikely winners just kept on coming across all meets throughout the day. Amongst those unexpected victories was Harlem, defending his Australian Cup Crown at $41, providing leading female jockey Jamie Kah with her first Group 1 win. It was a fairytale of a ride from both Harlem and Kah, with trainer David Hayes describing it as a real “11/10 ride”. Mick Price is excited by this filly and how she has progressed since last year. He is now planning to give Shezawitness another trial next Tuesday February 26 and if all goes well, take her to the races after that.…

Melbourne Cup stats and facts

Racing loves statistics – none more than when you own a racehorse (or win the Melbourne Cup.) Perhaps second only to first-class cricket, the racing industry, those who own, those who train and those who enjoy racing love data, form and stats. So we thought we’d run a quick comparison with the 2018 winner Cross Counter, won (as every miRunners owner will know!) by jockey Kerrin McEvoy, who raced Zoushack at Royal Randwick during this year’s Everest meeting (and apologies for any errors). The thrill of premium thoroughbred ownership

Nothing compares to the moment you see your own horse parading in the mounting yard. It’s like seeing your baby’s first steps. Especially if it’s your first. Premium thoroughbred ownership is special. Hearing the pre-race comments exclusively from your trainer and jockey, explaining their vision of how they believe the race will play out. Listening to where your horse will sit in the field. Will it sit two back on the rails and make its move on the turn, or is the plan to lead from start to finish? There is no way to explain what goes through an owner’s…
