Introducing Hinchinbrook x Koonoomoo trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott

We are thrilled to launch our third purchase from Magic Millions 2019, Hinchinbrook x Koonoomoo, to be trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. Bloodstock Agent Mick Malone said this filly stood out to him from the start of the inspections at Segenhoe Stud, and was thrilled to secure her for miRunners. “She’s just got that beautiful Danehill head to her and great shoulder and a massive, big hip on her. I imagine she’s going to be very precocious and an early runner” said Mick Malone. He believes that this filly is in perfect hands going to the Gai Waterhouse…

Excitement building for owners with another miRunners 2YO taking to the track

Our Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly trained by Troy Corstens stepped out today in her first official trial at Werribee, with young jockey Patrick Maloney describing it as “a perfect first trial” by the filly. She did everything right pre-trial, behaving herself and acting like the ultimate professional in the yard according to trainer Troy Corstens. She jumped out of the barriers really well, managing to lead in the early stages before wobbling a bit around the corner and finishing off the trial strongly, finishing in third place. Jockey Patrick Moloney didn’t push her too hard in…

“Quickly picked up her rivals” – Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere positioning for debut!

The excitement is building for owners in our Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly trained by Troy Corstens, as she is now readying to make her race day debut. The filly had her first jump out on grass last week in Geelong, and after looking a bit wobbly out of the gates, she then tellingly showed great speed to end up winning the jumpout impressively. “She was slow into stride but then showed a nice turn of foot once she balanced up and hit the line well” said Troy following the jumpout. Troy was quite impressed with the…

Watch the race replay below:   This 5YO mare by sire Not A Single Doubt has had…

Behind the scenes as an owner of Gaelic Puzzle

Despite the result, it was a great day out for over 60 owners who attended the debut race of Gaelic Puzzle at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday, March 13. Some even traveled interstate, which was amazing to see given her acceptance into the race was such late notice. As it was a midweek race meet, all owners were given great access to trainer Bjorn Baker and jockey Michael Walker both pre and post-race, and of course everyone got to see Gaelic Puzzle getting saddled up in the stalls. View the below video of Bjorn speaking exclusively to owners pre-race:  …

How it feels to own part of a racehorse – the story of owner Michael Jensen

Being an owner in a thoroughbred really is something else. Win or lose, it’s an indescribable feeling watching your very own racehorse step out onto that track, no matter what race it is. Whether you own 100%, 5% or even 0.1%, that is still your horse, and the feeling is exactly the same. Courtesy of Racing Queensland, this is a presentation of a day in the life owner Michael Jensen who has a share in Gollan Racing‘s 2YO Ready To Roam. It features the day when Ready To Roam finished 3rd in the Aquis QTIS 2YO Jewel at Gold Coast…

Lyrical Girl returns to the track tomorrow

With 2YO filly Lyrical Girl down to the last few hundred units available, we caught up with trainer Tony Gollan at the QTIS Sales last week to ask him why people should buy into Lyrical Girl now. He has loved this filly from the start, saying from the beginning she has had a pretty faultless time in his stables. Tony Gollan thinks now that all the hard work has been done with this filly, people should secure their final few units to now “enjoy the ride”. She is expected to have her first trial of this preparation tomorrow, and Gollan…

Why we love racing – how we see ourselves in horses

As our owners are such an important part of this miRunners experience, we decided to do a series on how our owners see themselves in horses and what thoroughbred ownership with miRunners means to them. We asked many of our loyal owners to give their response to the below quote: “A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from the mundane” We have been overwhelmed by the responses so far – and first up we wanted to share the response from David and Carol…

Watch a full sister to your Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly win impressively on debut

It couldn’t have been a better debut for the full sibling of our Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly. King’s Lady made her debut as a 3YO on Saturday night in Race 3 at Toowoomba, coming in to $1.70 favouritism before the race. After battling 3 wide for majority of the race, 3YO filly King’s Lady showed just how much ability she has when she kicked clear in the straight and won by a length. The Ben Currie trained filly showed just why it was important for her to wait until she was a fully matured 3YO to…

Not A Royal Doubt returns to the track alongside Slipper favourite

It was a competitive field for Not A Royal Doubt’s first trial of this preparation, as she was up against one of the Golden Slipper favourites in Loving Gaby. Not A Royal Doubt came out well in the barriers to settle at the end of the field, not being at all pushed or stressed by jockey Blake Shinn. The aim of the trial was to just get her familiar with the track again, so she was ridden easy and quietly to the line. It’s exciting for all owners to see Not A Royal Doubt back on the track again, and…

A full breakdown of the miRunners model

With no mark-up on the purchase price of the horse, ownership with miRunners will always be built on quality, transparency and trust. It is somewhat unique to miRunners for a yearling to be offered without the price being marked up from the sale price, however this is key in delivering owners the transparency we believe is important in earning the trust of the public. We are doing something that has never been done before and making ownership affordable to all Australians for the first time. As with anything new, we need to earn your trust and whilst results cannot be…

Everything you need to know about barrier trials

You’ve watched your horse be educated, you’ve chosen their racing name, and now the moment has come for them to hit the track for trials! Watching your horse trial can feel like the Melbourne Cup, but in reality it is just another step in the process of building a racehorse: a racehorse that can handle different tracks, riders and race situations. Horse racing trials are basically mini races without the pressure of result driven outcomes. When working in a race preparation, all horses are accustomed to training with stable mates but this is not racing. Racing has a large number…
