miRunners under lights and at the track

It has been an exciting past week for our owners of Zoushack and Bellarine Beauty, with Zoushack making his Victorian metro debut at the Valley last Friday night and Bellarine Beauty running in the race of the day yesterday at Ballarat.  Zoushack put in a gutsy effort to finish third after missing the start by a length and a half and not being able to really catch a break in the run following. Jockey Jamie Kah tried to pull to the outside and got blocked, then tried again to make a run on the inside and just couldn’t find a…

Already three of the miRunners two-year-olds have hit the ground running. In a partnership between Racing Queensland and miRunners, two premium-bred fillies by Snitzel and Written Tycoon have struck in the Sunshine State with a trial already completed by Northern Thunder.  South of the border, the Hinchinbrook colt out of group one winning mare Gaze continues to please the Lindsay Park team by showing impressive signs with plans for an early trial. With excitement building around the miRunners community as the forward two-year-olds take to the track, why not jump on board the ownership ride.    The Chris Munce trained Northern…

Those that dream big – take note

The Cox Plate, Golden Slipper and Sires Produce are races that are synonymous for producing Australian champions. In these group one races one common element stands out, the Snitzel factor. And for the first time, affordable access to Australia’s champion sire is here with miRunners precocious 2yo filly Northern Thunder, trained by Chris Munce. John Messera from Arrowfield Stud explained “These are races that owners dream about winning and Snitzel can make those dreams come true- his sons and daughters have already won them all.” As a two-time Champion Sire of juveniles his 2YO progeny speaks for itself: a total…

Naming the potential Magic Millions 2020 runner, Snitzel x Typing!

Trainer Chris Munce has his eyes set on the early 2YO races so it had to be a quick turn around to name the Snitzel x Typing filly! Naming nominations for this filly kicked off just three weeks ago, and with the help of a smart team at Racing Australia this filly will go to trial on Monday 23 September with her racing name. As part of the miRunners ownership model naming suggestions are open to the public and just like previous miRunners horses, this filly had hundreds of name suggestions. Steven Brown, miRunners CEO says: “It is so incredible…

Zoushack makes it 2 wins from 2 runs this preparation with a gutsy finish

Zoushack put in a gutsy performance to make it 2 wins from 2 outings this preparation, winning Race 10 at Seymour by a literal nose hair. In a tight photo finish which looked to have nothing in it, Zoushack kicked back when it mattered to make it back to back wins. After being vetted at the gates, 3YO gelding Zoushack jumped well out of the barriers and settled at the front of the field, leading from start to finish. In saying this, there was great tension in the finish when it looked as though the fast-finishing Deploys Alone was going…

Bellarine Beauty puts in a solid debut performance to finish 4th

Bellarine Beauty stepped out on debut in Race 2 at Seymour yesterday afternoon, with jockey Craig Wiliams on board. The field narrowed down to 9 runners, with many of them solidly in the market and having their first starts. 3YO filly Bellarine Beauty jumped out of the gates a tad slower than what we have seen in her trials and struggled to find a place in the field, eventually settling 3 wide the trip. Despite this, and being bumped at the 200m by the eventual winner and race favourite, she still managed to hit the line nicely and finish 4th.…

Here come the butterflies – Bellarine Beauty and Zoushack both accept for Seymour on Thursday!

Thursday will be an exciting day for many miRunners owners. For the first time, the miRunners team of owners will have two runners on the same day, at the same track! This Thursday afternoon, 3YO filly Bellarine Beauty will make her race debut in Race 2 at Seymour, with 3YO gelding Zoushack having his second start of this preparation in Race 10.  The latest thoroughbred to be owned by racing’s ownership revolution, Bellarine Beauty has continually impressed trainer Troy Corstens since she first arrived at his stables. She has won 3 from 4 of her trials/jump outs over her two…

Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt settling in to life at Lindsay Park

The Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt is in work at Lindsay Park after arriving there just last week. Trainer David Hayes has described him as a “nice, strong horse”, which definitely shines through in his trackwork.  So far, owners have received two updates from Lindsay Park on their colt, which shows him working in company with other horses on the track. Watch the first two updates below:     Throughout his early education process, this colt has constantly been showing all his educators very positive signs. He is strong yet has a great temperament, which isn’t always seen in a young…

Another big week ahead for miRunners with 3 runners

It’s another big week ahead for miRunners, as Gaelic Puzzle, Bellarine Beauty and Zoushack are all expected to hit the track. Gaelic Puzzle and Zoushack will be having their second runs of this preparation, with Bellarine Beauty set to make her racing debut.  Zoushack put on a dominant display first-up at Sale two weeks ago to win by a length, and trainer David Hayes is hoping he can repeat that next week when he races at Seymour before hopefully heading to the city. Watch his first-up win below: The race was dominated from the front with Zoushack holding off the…

A memorable windy Saturday at Emeran Park

Not even the strong winds could stop the excitement felt by owners who travelled to Emeran Park to visit their thoroughbreds this past weekend.  Over 150 owners made the trip to Emeran Park on Saturday to visit 3YO filly Not A Royal Doubt and four of our yearlings who were being paraded. Most in attendance had never had the opportunity to see their horse in the flesh before, so it was a day made just for making memories!  Following a brief spiel from miRunners CEO Steve Brown, each horse was paraded for owners and given the windy conditions, all yearlings…

Shezawitness takes fourth in a classy but heavy race

Shezawitness stepped out on the track for her second start this afternoon in Race 1 at Sandown. Despite there being just 5 runners in the race, it was a competitive field rallying it out on a very heavy track. Shezawitness jumped very well out the gates and put in a gutsy effort to finish 4th on a heavy 1 10 track, conditions that are difficult for any horse, let alone a young 3YO having just their second race start. One of our lovely owners filmed the race on her tv, so enjoy the race replay below: Post-race, jockey Lachlan King…

Bellarine Beauty set for debut race

Bellarine Beauty blitzed the field in her trial down the Flemington straight on a heavy track on Monday morning, winning convincingly over her rivals. Trainer Troy Corstens is thrilled with her progress this preparation, and is now looking for a suitable debut race within the next two weeks.  With limited units still available in this filly, you better buy in quick at just $198 per ownership unit and $15 per month ($5 per month for any subsequent units purchased). After her trial win on Monday, we expect her to be sold out in the coming week. Watch the impressive trial…

And the winning design is…

We’re excited to announce the winning silks design for Bellarine Beauty! Congratulations to Tim Gately who came up with this design, we all can’t wait to cheer her on wearing these colours! We thought we would ask Tim a few questions on his design, and see what he is going to do with his $213 VISA gift card! What influenced the design of these silks? The navy blue hooped sleeves on white represent Geelong’s champion team, the Cats. I believe, and the submitted designs confirm that this iconic image is what most people think of when you mention Geelong. The…

It’s a day to remember for miRunners and all 560 owners in the Mick Price trained filly Shezawitness, as she won Race 2 at Sale on debut earlier today. With certainty, we can say the 25 excited owners that made the trip to Sale Racecourse will never forget this day, along with the other 535 Shezawitness owners who were cheering her on from all around the country. miRunners are celebrating eleven birthdays this year!

This week miRunners celebrates eleven birthdays, a big increase from last year where we were only celebrating six! On August 1st there will be extra love given to our thoroughbreds in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria as they are each classified as a year older. On Thursday 1st August all thoroughbreds in Australia will turn a year older. Those yearlings coming into their first preps will be qualified for racing and those who are two-years-old will become 3YO race-ready. We all know that not all thoroughbreds were born on the exact same day, so just how did it come…
