Behind the scenes as an owner of Gaelic Puzzle

Despite the result, it was a great day out for over 60 owners who attended the debut race of Gaelic Puzzle at Warwick Farm Racecourse on Wednesday, March 13. Some even traveled interstate, which was amazing to see given her acceptance into the race was such late notice. As it was a midweek race meet, all owners were given great access to trainer Bjorn Baker and jockey Michael Walker both pre and post-race, and of course everyone got to see Gaelic Puzzle getting saddled up in the stalls. View the below video of Bjorn speaking exclusively to owners pre-race:  …

How it feels to own part of a racehorse – the story of owner Michael Jensen

Being an owner in a thoroughbred really is something else. Win or lose, it’s an indescribable feeling watching your very own racehorse step out onto that track, no matter what race it is. Whether you own 100%, 5% or even 0.1%, that is still your horse, and the feeling is exactly the same. Courtesy of Racing Queensland, this is a presentation of a day in the life owner Michael Jensen who has a share in Gollan Racing‘s 2YO Ready To Roam. It features the day when Ready To Roam finished 3rd in the Aquis QTIS 2YO Jewel at Gold Coast…

Lyrical Girl returns to the track tomorrow

With 2YO filly Lyrical Girl down to the last few hundred units available, we caught up with trainer Tony Gollan at the QTIS Sales last week to ask him why people should buy into Lyrical Girl now. He has loved this filly from the start, saying from the beginning she has had a pretty faultless time in his stables. Tony Gollan thinks now that all the hard work has been done with this filly, people should secure their final few units to now “enjoy the ride”. She is expected to have her first trial of this preparation tomorrow, and Gollan…

Why we love racing – how we see ourselves in horses

As our owners are such an important part of this miRunners experience, we decided to do a series on how our owners see themselves in horses and what thoroughbred ownership with miRunners means to them. We asked many of our loyal owners to give their response to the below quote: “A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from the mundane” We have been overwhelmed by the responses so far – and first up we wanted to share the response from David and Carol…

Watch a full sister to your Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly win impressively on debut

It couldn’t have been a better debut for the full sibling of our Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly. King’s Lady made her debut as a 3YO on Saturday night in Race 3 at Toowoomba, coming in to $1.70 favouritism before the race. After battling 3 wide for majority of the race, 3YO filly King’s Lady showed just how much ability she has when she kicked clear in the straight and won by a length. The Ben Currie trained filly showed just why it was important for her to wait until she was a fully matured 3YO to…

Not A Royal Doubt returns to the track alongside Slipper favourite

It was a competitive field for Not A Royal Doubt’s first trial of this preparation, as she was up against one of the Golden Slipper favourites in Loving Gaby. Not A Royal Doubt came out well in the barriers to settle at the end of the field, not being at all pushed or stressed by jockey Blake Shinn. The aim of the trial was to just get her familiar with the track again, so she was ridden easy and quietly to the line. It’s exciting for all owners to see Not A Royal Doubt back on the track again, and…

Snitzel youngsters win first three races at Warwick Farm

The first three races at Warwick Farm on Wednesday March 13 were won impressively by a trio of promising Snitzel youngsters. Snitzel was an outstanding sprinter himself, winning seven of his fifteen starts, including the Group One Oakleigh Plate, earning over $1 million AUD in prize money during his career. Although Snitzel had an outstanding career on the track, he has become even more of a phenomenon at stud. The Arrowfield Stud super stallion has been so dominant during 2017-18, he is Australia’s most expensive sire standing at a fee of $220 000. The first race of the day was…
