2020 Everest announcement: Australia’s most improved sprinter to represent more than 2,000 real Australians in The 2020 TAB Everest

Eduardo – Australia’s most improved sprinter– will represent miRunners in the 2020 Everest. The more than 2,000 individuals who have bought into miRunners 1,000 micro slots, at $880 each, were thrown a major curve ball when Rothfire broke down when running as the shortest priced favourite in Golden Rose history last weekend. The 2,000 microslot holders were called on to refresh their vote for their preferred runner and the miRunners panel of Mark Waugh, Lizzie Jelfs, Dan O’Sullivan and Tye Angland were quick to move once the worst was confirmed for Rothfire.  “The issue in such circumstances is that many…

An insight into miEverest panel member Mark Waugh

The only thing Mark Waugh enjoys more than reeling off centuries for his country, is analysing race form and backing winners at the track.  The man they call “Junior” thrilled the cricket world for over a decade, playing 128 Test matches and posting 20 majestic centuries. Along with that he helped revolutionize the opening batsman’s role in One Day Internationals making 18 centuries. Waugh also impressed as a national selector and is now regarded as one of the sports most respected cricket commentators.  Waugh has always been a keen punter and racing enthusiast, having been introduced to the sport through…

An insight into miEverest panel member Daniel O’Sullivan

It’s one of the toughest games on the planet. Not only being a professional punter but better than that, a successful one.  Daniel O’Sullivan has lived by his wits as a pro punter for the past 20 years. Always seeking ‘an edge’, Dan is analytical and lives by ethos of ‘there’s no such thing certainty’. Dan is known as a man who can “find the value runner” a horse he considers is over the odds.  Having established the Betsmart Racing Service (www.betsmart.racing), he has developed hundreds of articles for the punter, increasing education and knowledge across the industry. Daniel is…

An insight into miEverest panel member Lizzie Jelfs

Not too many people globally have a better ‘eye’ for a thoroughbred than Lizzie Jelfs. She has quickly won over the toughest of all critics, “the Aussie punter”, with her mounting yard analysis on Sky Racing and the Seven Network, often providing winners a big odds. Go Lizzie! Originally hailing from Oxford in England (she’s almost dropped the accent), Jelfs came to Australia in 2001 with aspirations of becoming a jockey. Working under the tutelage of the great CS Hayes, Jelfs worked as the travelling foreperson for the Lindsay Park team. However, it is in-front of the camera where Jelfs…

An insight into miEverest panel member Tye Angland

A hugely respected jockey on the world stage, with prize money earnings over $50m and 11 Group 1’s to his name, Tye will provide a vital insight into tactics, form and the right character of horse for the miEverest campaign. If we are looking for inspiration from our expert panel, look no further than Tye Angland. They don’t come any tougher than Tye, he is immensely proud of his New South Wales country upbringing, where he cut his teeth as a rodeo rider before graduating to the jockey ranks, including a long stint in Hong Kong. Angland’s career as a jockey…

And the winning name is…

Hearing your horse’s name broadcasted for the first time across the track and nationally on television is one of the many thrills of being a race horse owner. The miRunners ownership model aims to engage the wider community to get involved with naming their horses by allowing suggestions to be submitted by the public.  An exclusive miRunners owner privilege is that the final racing name is selected only by owners involved in each horse. By casting a vote from a list of shortlisted suggestions, control is placed in the owner’s hands to select the winning name that will be called…
