A hugely respected jockey on the world stage, with prize money earnings over $50m and 11 Group 1’s to his name, Tye will provide a vital insight into tactics, form and the right character of horse for the miEverest campaign.
If we are looking for inspiration from our expert panel, look no further than Tye Angland. They don’t come any tougher than Tye, he is immensely proud of his New South Wales country upbringing, where he cut his teeth as a rodeo rider before graduating to the jockey ranks, including a long stint in Hong Kong.
Angland’s career as a jockey was tragically cut short by a race fall in Hong Kong in November 2018. But that hasn’t stopped Tye, he is now one of the sport’s most respected “judges” featuring as an expert with the Seven Network and also as an ambassador for the Magic Millions organisation.
Known in this country for a wonderful association with superstar colt Trapeze Artist, on whom he won 3 Group 1’s. Also, was the last jockey to beat the legendary Winx in a race start. Tye now works as a media commentator for Channel 7 and an ambassador for Magic Millions.
Tye will provide a unique insight to the miEverest panel, providing the answers from a jockey’s perspective, in particular the big question, ’What would I want to be riding?’.
