The Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt has caught the eye of the miRunners community as he prepares to head to the Inglis Millennium 2YO on Saturday 8th February 2020.
Trained by Lindsay Park, in his second trial the colt jumped straight to the lead and was never in doubt as he powered home to victory much to the delight of co-trainer David Hayes.
“He is a horse that is going to win plenty of races, and we are very happy with him.” Hayes said.
The colt by Hinchinbrook then proved in the Blue Diamond Preview that he is a horse to watch after finishing an impressive third.
Ben Hayes said in his post-race comments “I think it is very exciting, I really thought it was a good run, and I’m looking forward to seeing him over further too.”
With the $2 million Inglis Millenium this Saturday, anticipation is continuing to grow as the colt prepares for his NSW race debut.
It is with excitement that miRunners announce the official race name as selected by the owners of the Hinchinbrook x Gaze colt:
The miRunners ownership model aims to engage the wider community to get involved with naming their horses by allowing suggestions to be submitted by the public. With over 700 names suggested there is no doubt this colt captured the attention of many.
An exclusive miRunners owner privilege is that the final racing name is then selected only by owners involved in each horse. By casting a vote from shortlisted suggestions, control is placed in the owner’s hands to choose the winning name that will be called past the post.
Fixated was initially suggested by Alan McLoughlin with inspiration taken from the looks of this ‘powerful’ colt and the name of his dam, Gaze.
“The meaning of the word fixate is to develop an obsessive attachment to someone or something which you do when you look at Apollo.” McLoughlin said. “Feels amazing to know that a horse I’ve named will carry so many other owners hopes and dream every time he races.”
“I love the excitement and positivity I see on the group chats from people who are experiencing horse ownership for the first time.” said McLoughlin.
