miRunners under lights and at the track

It has been an exciting past week for our owners of Zoushack and Bellarine Beauty, with Zoushack making his Victorian metro debut at the Valley last Friday night and Bellarine Beauty running in the race of the day yesterday at Ballarat. 

Zoushack put in a gutsy effort to finish third after missing the start by a length and a half and not being able to really catch a break in the run following. Jockey Jamie Kah tried to pull to the outside and got blocked, then tried again to make a run on the inside and just couldn’t find a gap. 

It was a positive run from the 3YO gelding, who has made it two wins and a third from his 3 starts so far this preparation. Commentators on racing.com black booked Zoushack and said he was the run of the race, with all including Kah believing if he jumped cleanly he would’ve won the race. The next step for Zoushack is a race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday October 16th. Although Lindsay Park believe he could be up to a group race next start, they want to take him through the appropriate grades first to get some more experience under his belt before competing at that higher level. If one thing is for sure, it is that we have an exciting 3YO on our hands in Zoushack. 

Bellarine Beauty in race of the day at Ballarat

Bellarine Beauty had her second run of this preparation and her racing career yesterday at Ballarat, which was classified as a city meet. The field was tough, and she measured up well just failing to give that extra kick in the straight when it was needed. 

Jockey Craig Williams was positive about the run, and although finishing 6th he stated that she actually improved by two lengths on her previous run which is a great sign moving forward. He believes we have a nice horse on our hands and she will only improve going forward.

Bellarine Beauty will now head out for a brief 5-6 week spell before coming back in to work for her next preparation. Listen to Craig’s post-race comments below:
