Bellarine Beauty stepped out on debut in Race 2 at Seymour yesterday afternoon, with jockey Craig Wiliams on board. The field narrowed down to 9 runners, with many of them solidly in the market and having their first starts.
3YO filly Bellarine Beauty jumped out of the gates a tad slower than what we have seen in her trials and struggled to find a place in the field, eventually settling 3 wide the trip. Despite this, and being bumped at the 200m by the eventual winner and race favourite, she still managed to hit the line nicely and finish 4th.
Jockey Craig Williams was happy with her first-up performance, and thought she lengthened really nice for him in the straight. Listen to his post-race comments below:
All in all, it was a great first-up run from Bellarine Beauty and we know she will learn from the experience and improve from this second-up. We can’t wait to hear where she is heading next!Â
