We are thrilled to launch our third purchase from Magic Millions 2019, Hinchinbrook x Koonoomoo, to be trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott. Bloodstock Agent Mick Malone said this filly stood out to him from the start of the inspections at Segenhoe Stud, and was thrilled to secure her for miRunners.
“She’s just got that beautiful Danehill head to her and great shoulder and a massive, big hip on her. I imagine she’s going to be very precocious and an early runner” said Mick Malone.
He believes that this filly is in perfect hands going to the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stables, and gives her every chance at running early.
“Gai’s had a lot of success with this type of breed and this type in particular. She paraded at the farm perfectly and paraded at the sales 4-5 perfectly again, she’s just a lovely filly” said Mick.

miRunners successfully purchased her at the 2019 Magic Millions for $187 000 (including GST) which makes her available to purchase for $187 per unit with ongoing monthly fees of $15.
About Hinchinbrook x Koonoomoo
This filly is by the highly regarded Hinchinbrook, who was a seriously fast 2YO winning a Group 3 second-up and placing in two Group 1 races. He was the leading champion first season sire of 2014/2015, and has subsequently continued to produce star racehorses year after year.
Hinchinbrook has sired three Group 1 winners, including the undefeated 2YO Press Statement. Press Statement had 3 starts for 3 wins as a 2YO, including the Group 1 BTC J.J. Atkins Stakes.
As a 3YO he went on to win the Caulfield Guineas, making him the only colt of his year to win a Group 1 as both a 2YO and 3YO. His other Group 1 winners include Seabrook, who won the Moet and Chandon Champagne Stakes as a 2YO and most recently Beat the Clock, who won the Centenary Sprint Cup at Sha Tin on January 21 2019.
Hinchinbrook is also the sire of Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint Winner Diamond Tathagata, and his group & stakes performers include the likes of Seabrook, Press Statement, Whispering Brook, Salsonic and Samara Dancer. At the Magic Millions Yearling Sales in 2019, 21 yearlings sold for an average of averaging $274,524.
At the Inglis Easter Sale in 2016, a colt by Hinchinbrook sold for $1 million, with his three yearlings selling for an average of $440, 000.
This is the sire line from heaven. Hinchinbrook is a three-quarter brother to leading leading Australian sire Snitzel and Group 3 winner Viennese, and is by champion sire Fastnet Rock from stakes-winning sprinter Snippets’ Lass. Fastnet Rock is a legend in his own right, producing 36 individual Group 1 winners and 5 Group 1 winning 2YOs since the start of 2016.
Koonoomoo was a top class race mare herself, being a Group 3 winner and Group 2 placed and the winner of over $460 000 in prize money.
Koonoomoo is out of the Rory’s Jester mare Masimova whose grand-dam, Embassadora, took out the Group 1 AJC Chipping Norton Stakes and Group 2 STC Apollo Stakes.
She is also the dam of Group 3 winner Western Chorus who delivered Hong Kong champion Jeune King Prawn and the Listed winner, Creative Plan.

About Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott
Gai Waterhouse is no stranger to winning. After a 12-year apprentice at Tulloch Lodge under her father T.J Smith, Gai recorded a winner in her first race, her first metropolitan race and her first Group One race – no mean feat.
One might think nowadays that The Lady Trainer would rest on her laurels but Gai is determined to keep on winning. In 2007 she was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame and across 20 years of racing Gai has recorded over 135 Group One wins, not far behind her father and Bart Cummings on the all-time list. In her career so far, she has had over 3,850 winners.
Co-Trainer Adrian Bott has always surrounded himself with thoroughbreds. Growing up at Segenhoe Stud, Adrian’s track record, passion for and dedication to racing and breeding was instrumental to Gai offering him the much-coveted role of co-trainer at Tulloch Lodge in Randwick. It took just six days after the partnership was formed for Adrian and Gai to record their first winner in the stakes company when Thronum won the ATC Rosebud-LR.
