5YO mare Kenedna, who is now trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace flew home from the back of the field on Friday night at Moonee Valley to finish third in the Group 2 Sunline Stakes.
Kenedna was slow out of the gates and settled in last position, before bursting into the race on the turn and absolutely charging home. It was an impressive effort after a short 3-week freshen up, and has filled her trainers and connections with hope for this preparation. Watch the race replay below:
This 5YO mare by sire Not A Single Doubt has had much success over the last few years, and if Friday’s run is anything to go by, she isn’t slowing down any time soon! Previously trained by Darren Weir, she won 7 out of her 21 starts under the Victorian trainer including two wins as a 2YO.Â
From her 7 wins, she has won 2 Group 3 races so far, one Group 3 race, and 1 Listed race. The exciting mare also came 2nd in the Group 1 Schweppes Oaks at Morphettville Racecourse in 2017, and finished 4th in the Group 1 QLD Oaks that same preparation.
Kenedna has already exceeded $760,000 in prize money, and continues to show improvement in every run. You can now own your share in a filly by sire Not A Single Doubt, and with her full sister winning on debut a few weekends ago, you better get in quick!
Watch a full sister to your Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly win impressively on debut
It couldn’t have been a better debut for the full sibling of our Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere filly. King’s Lady made her debut as a 3YO on Saturday night in Race 3 at Toowoomba, coming in to $1.70 favouritism before the race. After battling 3 wide for majority of the race, 3YO filly King’s Lady showed just how much ability she has when she kicked clear in the straight and won by a length.
The Ben Currie trained filly showed just why it was important for her to wait until she was a fully matured 3YO to make her debut, and it surely paid off. She was ridden well by jockey Nick Keal, who let her find her position in the field and got her to make her move when asked upon in the straight. Watch the replay below:
