After a solid debut performance over the 1100m at Flemington Racecourse beating the race favourite by half a length, Booker went on to place in two Group 3’s and a Group 2 before winning the Group 2 Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield Racecourse by half a length on October 1 2017. Following a sixth placing in the Group 1 Schweppes Thousand Guineas on October 14, Booker was put out for a spell and returned 17 weeks later on February 10 2018 to win the Group 3 Kevin Hayes Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse first-up. She impressively led from start to finish, proving too strong in the straight and winning comfortable in the end by one and a half lengths. Watch the replay below:

 

After racing in a few more group races but failing to secure a win, Booker returned to the track last weekend to win her first Group 1, more than a year after her last victory. After narrowly being beaten in the same race as a 3YO, Booker stormed home to victory on Saturday to win the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield Racecourse. She impressively burst through runners from a midfield position to win by three-quarters of a length from 3YO Encryption. Watch the race replay below:

 

Booker has now exceeded $800,000 in career prize money so far as a 4YO, and it is safe to say she will be worth at least that much again when she retires. The victory marked the 7th Group 1 win for sire Written Tycoon, who is producing impressive progeny results in both Australia and internationally.
