miRunners filly Gaelic Puzzle showed great speed out of the barrier today to lead Trial 8 at Canterbury Racecourse from start to finish, with senior jockey Tim Clark on board. She wasn’t challenged until the final 100m, winning the trial by a head from 2YO filly Get Hitched, trained by Hawkes Racing.
Similar to her first trial, Gaelic Puzzle showed explosive gate speed, and from the inside barrier managed to easily get the lead and hold it comfortably to the end. Jockey Tim Clark rode her softly, allowing the young filly to find her position at the front of the field, and kept a steady pace throughout the trial. Watch the trial replay below:
In what is not a usual practice in racing, a small crowd of miRunners owners were cheering from the stand at Canterbury Racecourse as they watched Gaelic Puzzle win the trial, bringing some much needed atmosphere to the trials.
