It has been a good few weeks for miRunners trainers on the track, with many securing numerous wins over the past two weekends. Our Queensland trainers are especially having great success on the track, with Tony Gollan having 5 wins and 6 placings the past two weekends. Tony Gollan just keeps winning for his owners
Tony Gollan has been in fine form all season and so it continued over the past two weekends, securing a treble of wins on Saturday 19 January. 2YO filly Epaumada and 4YO gelding Brains both made it two in a row when they secured impressive victories at Eagle Farm Racecourse on the 19 January.
Epaumada settled second behind the leader early before being brought to the outside in the straight and taking over with 150m to go. It was a solid victory to the line, making it an impressive two from two for the 2YO filly who has already brought in over $50 000 in prize money from her two starts.
4YO gelding Brains also made it two in a row after being crowded at the start in his race at Eagle Farm on the 19 January. After being slow out of the gates, Brains settled down worse midfield before coming to the outside at the 300m and storming home. He was far too strong late, and has an impressive 6 wins and 4 placings from his 17 start career. Watch the impressive victory below:
3YO gelding Macewen topped off the super saturday for Gollan Stables by securing a solid win first up at the Gold Coast. After settling 7th in the field, he was too strong around the bend and finished strongly to make it two first-up wins in a row for the young gelding.
Tony is excited by Lyrical Girl
Since this super weekend for Gollan Stables, they have had two more wins and six placings. Chris Munce wins again
Following Munce’s impressive win in the Magic Millions $2M 3YO Guineas with Boomsara on January 12, he has had three more winners and five placings. Boomsara’s win in the MM $2m 3YO Guineas marks Munce’s biggest career as a trainer so far.
Most recently on January 26, Munce had a solid first-up win with 3YO filly Zoucara at the Gold Coast. She came from last at the 400m to finish strongly, making it two second placings and one win from her three career starts. Watch a replay of the impressive victory below:

Troy Corstens on the fly
Troy Corstens had a race day double on January 26 at Yarra Valley, scoring a first-up win with both 4YO mare Zebreez and 3YO filly Fast and Ready. Zebreez sat in fourth place for most of the race before exploding over the final 100m, racing away and winning convincingly.
Fast and Ready resumed after a five week freshen up on Saturday to make it a Corstens double at Yarra Valley. She was away well, rolling forward before eventually sitting two wide for the majority of the race. She was pushed wide on the turn and after being pressured at the 250m, she responded well and held on impressively to the line.
Troy Corstens trains the Team Geelong thoroughbred Not A Single Doubt x Countess Dehere out of his Geelong Malua Racing Complex. With this filly due to trial in the next 6 weeks and at the races not long after that, now is an opportune time to buy in to this beautiful filly whilst units are still available. Her attitude both on and off the track has been constantly complimented by all who have worked with her, and she has been described as “a colt in a fillies body” by trainer Troy Troy Corstens.
