Incredible quality pedigree, action and upbringing in miRunners first 2019 thoroughbred. Introducing Written Tycoon X Sponsored to be trained by Robert Heathcote. miRunners Head of Bloodstock Mick Malone knew he wanted the filly from moment he first lay eyes on her at Highgrove Stud.
Her pedigree is second to none, and the quality she is already showing at such a young age is what impressed Mick the most.
“When you see a filly like this and see how much quality she has off a farm like Highgrove, it’s something you just need to be involved with. She just uses every part of her body from her nose right down to her tail, every part moves in perfect motion. Really happy with a filly like this, real substance, real bone and just a quality filly” said Mick.
“She definitely has precocity to her, and looks like she will run early as a 2 year-old. At the same time though, she also has that look to her that she will go on and be one of those nicer 3 year-olds and even 4 year-olds, she just has such a nice scope about her.”
miRunners successfully purchased her at the 2019 Magic Millions for $176 000 (including GST) which makes her available to purchase for $176 per unit with ongoing monthly fees of $15.

A son of Last Tycoon’s Iglesia and out of a Kenmare (Kalamoun) mare, an element of Written Tycoon’s success must be credited to providing breeders with an outcross that suits the majority of pedigrees. He has achieved success from a diverse range of dam lines, not being restricted to suiting a particular bloodline.
The fillies dam, Sponsored, is by Redoute’s Choice, who as a broodmare sire is phenomenal and is the leading broodmare sire in Australia. He was crowned a champion first season sire in Australia in 2004 and champion sire in 2006. Redoute’s Choice has excelled as a sire of two-year-olds with quinellas in the Golden Slipper and the Blue Diamond, along with a trifecta in the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast.
Redoute’s Choice has produced over 150 Stakes winners and 30 Group One winners including the well-known Snitzel and Stratum. Six of his sons have also sired Group One winners including Not A Single Doubt, Stratum and Snitzel.
The Cross between Written Tycoon and Redoute’s Choice already producing winners:
The Written Tycoon / Redoute’s Choice cross has produced 11 runners for 11 winners. Two of the winners are stakes horses delivering 18% stakes horses to runners including Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper placed Masthead.
The excitement further builds around the pedigree of this filly, with Redoute’s Choice being by champion international sire Danehill. Danehill was the sire of over 2000 runners, including over 1500 winners. His progeny have won over $375 million AUD in prize money and have included 89 Group 1 winners among his 349 stakes winners. Since 1997, Robert has trained over 1,300 winners and has been named the Queensland Trainer of the year on several occasions, collecting in excess of $44 million AUD in prize money so far throughout his career. His Group One winners tally now sits at an impressive 10, with Buffering, the stable star, having 7 to his name.
Robert believes that owners are the most important people in racing, and some he has had from the first year he started training. This is a clear testament to his great communication, regular updates and his very approachable personality that makes owners feel like they are part of the ‘racing family’.
Robert’s first introduction to the world of Thoroughbred Racing was visiting the many racetracks of England where he worked with his brother, Wayne. He got to witness some of the worlds finest thoroughbreds in action including the great Danehill.
Robert was granted his racehorse trainer’s license in 1997 and he applied his life skills and common sense to finish sixth in the Premiership in his first year with only a small team of racehorses in his stable. Constantly willing to learn and improve his skills, he sought advice from some of the industry greats and experts in order to improve his training philosophy.
