Rubick was named Timeform’s highest-rated 2yo colt of his generation, and so far with the results of his progenies over the last few months, the young sire Rubick is certainly living up to the title. There has been a lot of excitement this racing season over the first line of Rubick offsprings beginning their careers and delivering on the track.
Rubick’s offspring have shown plenty of explosive speed and an exciting ability to show up early, just as their father did and are rapidly building a reputation with trainers.
Since the first debut of a Rubick progenie on the 23 September 2018, there have been fourteen Rubick offsprings make their race debuts. From these fourteen different runners, there have been 14 places from 24 races, with 3 of those being impressive victories with a dual by Weir trained colt Yes, Yes, Yes and a win for Rubic Rose at Ascot for trainer Karen Kersley.

After a first-up second placing at Moonee Valley, Yes, Yes, Yes won impressively second-up at Flemington and again third-up back at The Valley. This puts the exciting speed machine in a great position leading in to the $2m Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast this weekend, as he is now equal third favourite in the race at $7.

In fact, there is a possibility that three Rubick progenies will be running in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic this Saturday 12 January 2019, with fellow Rubick offsprings Krameric and Alburq being drawn as emergency runners for the $2million race.
2YO Waller-trained colt Krameric has had two Group 3 placings and a Listed placing out of his 4 race starts, indicating that a win is not far away. Alburq, trained by Michael Moroney, made his debut in the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic at Ballarat on the 23 November, finishing in third place at long odds. He then came second to Yes, Yes, Yes at Moonee Valley two weeks ago, securing Rubick’s first quinella as a sire.
Hayes trained filly Biscara has also been impressive in her two city race starts, coming in second place on both occasions in Listed Races. From these two race starts, she has already accumulated over $110,000 in prize money. Also from two race starts, filly Rubic Rose trained by Karen Kersley out of Ascot has finished in second and first place, accumulating over $75 000 from her two race starts to date.
