Today the winner of the miRunners Magic Millions Share Competition was decided, and we are pleased to announce that the winner is miRunners owner Shane Quinn from Victoria!
The aim of the competition was to share how much you love miRunners Premium Thoroughbred Ownership and why it is a good idea for your friends, family, colleagues – anyone – to buy into miRunners ownership before Christmas. Creativity and the ability to influence others to join you as an owner was the key criteria to winning this great package, with a high level of creativity and reach of new people, definitely being shown in the winning entry.
A huge congratulations to Shane and his fiance Tracey, who will be travelling to the Gold Coast to experience a complimentary weekend at the Magic Millions with miRunners. The prize valued at approx. $4,000 includes two return flights from your nearest capital city, two nights accommodation on the Gold Coast, two tickets to the miRunners owners dinner and two tickets to the Magic Millions Race Day.
Shane is an owner in the Rubick X Slainte filly trained by Bjorn Baker in Sydney, and first heard about miRunners through a friend who had also purchased a share in her.

“I have always wanted to experience horse ownership as I love the enjoyment the races give me. When my friend had explained the small layout and and cheap ongoing costs, I thought this was the perfect time to get involved. The opportunity to have some skin in the game with a premium racehorse with a fantastic trainer was too much to pass up” said Shane.
The post that was shared over Shane’s social channels, that reached teachers, parents, friends and family as far as Ireland!
For Shane and his fiance Tracey, miRunners is important to the whole family, including Tracey’s 9 year old daughter Hollie. In fact, it was actually Hollie’s idea to make cupcakes for the share competition and decorate them in the miRunners colours to hand out to her classmates and teachers at school!
“I wanted to highlight how this exciting, fantastic and incredibly affordable experience had excited not only myself but my fiancé and her daughter as well. We thought what better way to spread the word on miRunners than to take up on 9 year old Hollie’s idea to handing out self made miRunners coloured themed cupcakes at her school.”
“I also wanted to communicate the Irish connection we have with Tracey’s family back home in Irelandwith friends and family being intrigued and fascinated with the concept on how we had managed to own a share in a premium racehorse” said Shane.

Following his share post, Shane had friends and family phoning him from Ireland asking him to explain the miRunners concept, with most of them being in complete awe of the fact that he owned part of a premium thoroughbred. This is something most people only ever dream of.
“miRunners is my very first introduction into horse ownership, expanding on my enjoyment I always have at the races as a punter. This is even better, I can follow my very own horse I have a share in. The fact that it’s a premium horse just adds to the excitement. It’s not about making money out of my experience. It’s more about the fun, the excitement and meeting new people that the miRunners community offers.”
