Geelong Racing Club CEO, Daniel Salter, talks on all things miRunners and Geelong Community Thoroughbred partnership related. In our exclusive video interview he offers his insights into the benefits, perks and what the future may have in store for the synergy between miRunners, GRC, Troy Corstens and our owners; Team Geelong.
Geelong Racing Club is partnering with miRunners, the organisation making premium thoroughbred racehorse ownership affordable, in an industry-first: to offer the Geelong community accessible and easy ownership of a premium thoroughbred racehorse – the Geelong horse.
For the Geelong Racing Club, this initiative creates a new opportunity for everyone in the Geelong area to form new ties, and to enjoy a personalised, engaging and year-round experience with the miRunners Geelong horse.
“This is a great opportunity for people who may have thought they could never afford or be involved” in horse ownership, says Salter.

“For all country race clubs, and any sporting club, it’s really important to get people involved and engaged with what you’re trying to do. For us, our relationship with miRunners is about getting people to the race track. Hopefully the horse has it’s first start or a number of starts out here at Geelong and we get a really good public turnout to come and watch the horse and get involved with racing.”
