Tony Gollan is no stranger to premiership awards, last night he collected his fifth premiership award. And he was also voted the Trainer of the Year by the industry participants.
When you are at the top of your game the people around you are the ones who sing your praises and receiving the Trainer of the Year is confirmation the Queensland Racing industry believes Tony Gollan is one of the best trainers in the state.
While congratulating all 29 award recipients Racing Queensland CEO Brendan Parnell couldn’t have put it better.
“Participants are the beating heart of the Queensland racing industry and they work extremely hard to ensure our sport continues to grow each year,” he said.
And Racing Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the awards were a fitting tribute not only to the winners, but also to the more than 40,000 Queenslanders employed or engaged in the state’s racing industry.
“Queensland’s racing industry is packed with talent and this was on full display at last night’s awards,” he said.
Gollan Racing’s dedication to the industry doesn’t stop with participation though, they also sponsored the Metropolitan Apprentice Of the year award. Another reason why the industry believed his contribution to the industry goes beyond just training winners.
It was also a night for Tony Gollan to sit back and enjoy one of his first trained Group winners collect the Champion First Season Stallion and Champion 2YO Stallion awards, Spirit of Boom.
