The rumours running hot within breeding and racing circles are that the first crop of Rubick, whose oldest foals are set to debut next month, have their trainers walking with a real spring in their step.
This has seen Rubick posted as favourite to become leading first season sire as per below. This market is quite indicative of the word getting around the industry as many of the stallions behind Rubick in this market stood for a service fee multiple of that of Rubick’s.

Funny enough; the first Rubick progeny won its trial at Rosehill.
The only two-year-old trial of the morning at Rosehill on Monday was won by Krameric. Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by James McDonald, two-year-old colt Krameric came from last to win his first trial comfortably by over four lengths over some very well bred competition. The Rubick rumours are hence rapidly gaining credence.
MiRunners purchased a promising filly by Rubick during Magic Millions, who is being trained by leading Australian trainer Bjorn Baker. This filly was held in very high regard by the team at Willow Park Stud who expressed a desire to join in the ownership team, something that may prove a telling signal.
Of 151 Rubick yearlings sold in 2018, this filly was the 8th most expensive to go through the sales ring, demonstrating again that the miRunners offering is all about the premium level yearling.
What is even more encouraging is the fact that the filly’s attitude has also been subsequently complemented. Trainer Bjorn Baker has very high hopes for her and the owners can expect this filly to show up reasonably early. She is very mature and sensible and was the talk of Willow Park’s draft in terms of her ability to handle the pressure of the sale: a very encouraging signal for any racehorse.
For just $275 per unit and a monthly fee of $15, you can quickly become a part of the buzz that is rapidly emerging on the progeny of the exciting Rubick.
