It has been an exciting day for owners of the third miRunners’ horse with the name that will be on everyone’s lips finally announced.
Following a public nomination period that saw over 400 names entered, the list was whittled down to a top 24 with owners then voting for the winning submission.
The winning name is: Not A Royal Doubt.
A merger of the filly’s sire (Not A Single Doubt) and dam (Royal Pageant), it is a name that rolls off the tongue and gives a grand acknowledgment to the horse’s impressive pedigree.

Not A Royal Doubt is a 2016 filly being trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and was bought for $275,000 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions. As with all miRunners horses, ownership was split into 1,000 units – each costing $275 (with a monthly fee of $15).
With Not A Royal Doubt already sold out, you can still buy into affordable ownership by choosing one of the two horses currently available: Rubick x Slainte (trained by Bjorn Baker) and Your Song x Sheeznodoubt (trained by Tony Gollan).
The owner who submitted the winning name first was Neil Todd. Neil discovered miRunners when he heard Alan Jones discussing the new ownership model on his 2GB radio show.

A self-confessed ‘novice’ when it comes to racing, Neil purchased into miRunners as an opportunity to try something new.
“I heard about miRunners and decided to do something different in life and see how racing ownership works. It was an easy and affordable way to get into racehorse ownership and I’m enjoying the experience,” explained Neil, who is pictured below during a miRunners owners’ event.
“I wanted to come up with an easy name that combined the two names of the parents. Not A Royal Doubt sounded alright so I went with it.
“When I submitted the name I thought it a chance to win and when I noticed that a couple of other people entered the same name in the competition later on, I could see that the name was already in people’s minds.

“I’m looking forward to going to my first meet when Not A Royal Doubt has its first race and hearing that name being called out.
“If it wasn’t for miRunners there’s no chance I would be able to own a racehorse – let alone name one – the whole experience has been really great.
“I encourage anyone thinking about ownership to join miRunners. It gives you an opportunity to get involved with a racehorse with likeminded people. The owners community has people talking about all aspects of racing every day and it’s such a new experience for people who have not been involved in racing before.”

For submitting the winning name, Neil wins a $290 pre-paid visa card just like the winners who submitted the names for Saganaki and Shezawitness. All members of the public can submit names but only owners get a final vote so purchase into the two currently available [and yet to be named] horses now.
