Bjorn Baker, one of Australia’s leading thoroughbred trainers and a trainer of the Rubick x Slainte miRunners filly, is in no doubt as to which horse you should have your eyes on.
miRunners purchase high-quality racehorses, matches them with Australia’s best trainers and splits the cost into 1,000 units: meaning it only costs $275 to buy into a premium thoroughbred with monthly costs capped at $15 per unit.
RECENT NEWS: Why we purchased Rubick x Slainte
Training the Rubick filly, the sixth horse purchased by miRunners, Bjorn has encouraged Australians from all walks of life to get on board his horse.
“It’s always a tough decision about what miRunners horse you want to go into and people always have their personal preferences,” said Bjorn.
“I can only comment on my filly and I like it: I think the Rubick filly is a lovely horse who has a lovely attitude and a lovely nature. She’s a lovely filly and I’m just looking forward to getting her going.
“It’s a bit like when you have a new car: with a young horse you want to put the foot on the accelerator and go full speed but you can’t do that straight away, you have to slowly build them up. I can’t wait to get to the start of the season, get her into a trial and look to race her.”
Bjorn was fortunate enough to attend one of the recent open days when owners were able to come and meet their horses in the flesh. As well as speaking to a big crowd, Bjorn was also able to show off his filly.
“The Rubick filly handled the day really well, she was really relaxed and had her photo taken with a big crowd so it worked out really well.
