Channel Seven television personality, former World Qualifying Surfer and racehorse owner Liz Cantor has encouraged Queenslanders from all walks of life to become part of the racing industry by owning a horse.
Having loved horses since she was young, Liz always wanted to learn more about the horse racing industry and get a hands-on experience, but didn’t believe she had the opportunity to do so as an owner until miRunners came along.
“Growing up I was a massive horse lover. I was one of those little girls who had pictures and posters of horses all over my bedroom wall and I still have a passion for them in adulthood. Especially with my work for Channel Seven, who are the broadcaster partner for horse racing in Australia.” explained Liz.
“miRunners came to me and it was just the perfect way to become an owner with the amount of money that I have – which isn’t millions – providing me with the opportunity to understand and experience the industry and learn the ins-and-outs.”
RECENT NEWS: How affordable thoroughbred ownership works
miRunners makes thoroughbred ownership affordable for everyone by purchasing a top quality racehorse, matching it with one of the nation’s best trainers and splitting the cost by 1,000 allowing Australians to purchase ownership from just $275.
Liz was thankful that miRunners gave her the opportunity to own her first horse, especially one that was purchased and will train in Queensland.
“For so long, racehorse ownership has been associated with very wealthy people. Until miRunners came along I never considered being an owner in a horse because I don’t have that kind of cash flow. Thankfully, this is an opportunity for everyday Australians and people like myself to get involved in something really special.
“And to be a part owner in a horse bought in my home town here in Queensland is super exciting.”

Despite the affordable price, miRunners owners still get the full ownership experience including a certificate of ownership, opportunities to meet their horse, weekly video updates from their trainers, a pro-rata share of any prize money won and a private area to watch their horse race at most tracks.
“My favourite aspect of miRunners is the personalised experience: I really like how I get videos of the horse in its everyday life. As a miRunners owner you’re not just turning up at the track for the first time being like ‘oh how’s my horse? How’s it going to go today?’, you’re actually part of its journey because you’re hearing from its trainer, you’re hearing its medical updates, you’re hearing how it’s doing in recovery.
“These days we’re so time poor so it’s just really easy to jump online and get all the information you want from miRunners. You can pick and choose what you want to know and control how much of your time it’s going to occupy. You’re even able to purchase your unit online!”
Queenslanders now have a miRunners horse to call their own with the well-bred Your Song x Sheeznodoubt purchased at the Gold Coast Magic Millions for $275,000.
The filly will be trained by Queensland’s number one trainer and four-time premiership winner, Tony Gollan and you can join Liz in owning a unit in this horse for only $275 plus a monthly fee of $15 for your first unit ($5 for any additional units).
