Another of Australia’s most successful and admired trainers has joined the miRunners stables as David Hayes comes on board to train Zoustar x Shack.
For only $275 plus a monthly fee of $15, you can own this well-bred colt from one of Australia’s
most exciting sires, trained by an experienced Group 1 winner.
As the head trainer at Lindsay Park Racing Stables, David learned every aspect of the racing business from his father, Colin. It must have been quite a tuition, because at the age of 28, following his father’s retirement, David established himself as a leading trainer in his very first season.

The yearling’s sire Zoustar has had his first crop to race just this year. And what has he done already? Excitingly he sired the winner on the $2m Magic Millions two-year-old race with Sunlight.
In what is a very exciting sign for this colt, Zoustar is one of if not the most exciting sire in Australia today. Another positive is that the horse’s dam is by Canny Lad, a Golden Slipper winner whose bloodlines are well sort after.
A great indicator of this colt’s potential is the way he handled himself at the sales at Magic Millions which illustrates his maturity and his ability to handle pressure. This colt has a great personality, laid back and focused.
What the star jockey says
“What we also really like about this horse is that his bloodlines go back to Canny Lad, a Golden Slipper winner whose bloodlines are so well sort after and it’s very exciting that this horse is going to David Hayes: a very well known two-year-old trainer.”
