On the day before the Gold Coast Yearling Sale kicks off, the sun will rise over the 2018 Magic Millions Carnival for the Magic Millions Barrier Draw.
On Tuesday, 9 January at 8:40am Magic Millions takes centre stage on the Surfers Paradise Foreshore.
At approximately 8am, all eyes will turn towards the ocean for the spectacle of several thoroughbreds with champion jockeys on board galloping down the pristine sands of Queensland’s most iconic beach, Surfers Paradise.
The connections of every runner in the 2018 $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic field will arrive in style before randomly choosing the barrier from which their horse will start on raceday, Saturday 13th January.
The barrier draw for the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions Guineas will be drawn shortly afterwards at approximately 8:45am.

Magic Millions Classic Information
The Magic Millions Classic is a Restricted Listed race held at Gold Coast Racecourse each year over 1200m and is the first of three million dollar races for 2YO at the Magic Millions Carnival.

The race is fully restricted to horses that have been sold or passed-in at one of the Magic Millions sales and boasts a total prize pool of $2,000,000 making it the richest event in the Magic Millions carnival.

The 2018 Magic Millions Classic will be run on Saturday the 13th of January, 2018 at Gold Coast Racecourse.
The Magic Millions Classic attracts horses sold or passed-in at Magic Millions sales held in Gold Coast, Tasmania, Perth and Adelaide.
Capitalist (2016), Phelan Ready (2009) and Dance Hero (2004) are the only horses who have completed the Magic Millions Classic – Golden Slipper double.
