One of Australia’s leading trainers has revealed that Saganaki, the ground-breaking miRunners colt, is potentially only days away from his first run.
Having already been nominated for both the Magic Millions Classic and the Golden Slipper, the highly-rated Saganaki has taken his next step towards those races with his trainer, Kris Lees, confident he will trial on Monday.

“At this stage Saganaki is likely to trial on Monday,” explained Lees.
“We’ll make the decision on the weekend after seeing how he comes through the training gallop. Providing his shins are cool and everything is right with the horse, we’ll go to trial on Monday.”
This is exciting news for the hundreds of owners that hold the 900 units sold so far.
Importantly, with unit sales ending once the trial begins, Australian’s potentially only have a matter of days left to snap up the final 100 units.

Saganaki is an Australian-first: purchased for $165,000 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions, the two-year-old colt was split into 1,000 units and made available to all Australians for $165 (plus $15 monthly fee).
Tipped to be the finest specimen out of his siblings – and with his siblings doing well – Lees is very excited about Saganaki’s potential.
“Without putting a great deal of pressure on him, I think he’ll trial quite well. It will depend on how he handles the occasion of going away from home but I think the trip to Wyong will do him a world of good,” said Lees.
“He’s doing everything right on the track and being a colt he’s a little full of himself but he’s certainly a nice horse.”
